Gazebos

The little gazebo in Hal Gray Park looked especially nice after a light snowfall in early December.
The old high school and middle school were on these corners until they were demolished in the 1980s. I am not sure what the purpose of this park is, but Rensselaer has several of these tiny parks.

Rensselaer seems to be gazebo friendly. Here is the gazebo by the county court house after the freezing rain of December 19. Sometimes couples get married here, which I do not think happens at the gazebo at Hal Gray Park. (Maybe couples could elope there. It is only big enough for bride, groom, witnesses, and presider.)
Maybe Rensselaer is not quite so gazebo friendly. There used to be a store across the street called "The Gazebo." It closed a while back, but you can still see traces of its sign.

Update:
I was wrong about the weddings at Hal Gray Park. There have been some.

I'd be more concerned about the graffiti in Hal Gray Park's gazebo than the small size of it for a wedding.

The dedication plaque for the schools is located behind the trash barrel. As an out-of-towner, I didn't know the significance of the park until I moved the barrel on a whim.
