Some recent posts from other blogs and other things

I noticed several interesting posts on other blogs that have a Rensselaer connection. Fair Oaks Farms has a profile on Kala Miller, who is a SJC graduate. Kala was, I believe, the Newton County Fair Queen five or six years ago. I recall that she liked to wear flip-flops to class even in the winter.

Jessica Nunemaker at Little Indiana has begun to post a bit more. She had a recent post on the Monon Connection Museum and another on Delphi.

The White House noted some French bicyclists peddling across the country from east to west.

And Desert Survivor has begun a series of posts about a railroad trip that will end in Denver, where she attended the wedding of a RCHS classmate. A number of Rensselaerians, including some who read this blog, are relatives of the bride.

In other happenings, the LaRue Pool is open. The break times are at 1:45 and 3:45. and at those times only people 18 and older can swim. You can even swim laps (widths) most days. If I can figure out an interesting take on the pool, I will post on it.

Demolition of the old jail has begun, and you should expect at least on post on that project in the next week or two.
