Remington's churches: First Christian

(I thought it would be interesting to use Sundays to focus on Rensselaer's churches and to see how many Sundays I can go before I run out of material. Indiana is richly endowed with religious denominations, with influences from North and South, East and West. This is part of that series of posts.)

The First Christian Church of Remington is located at 8 West Virginia Street Remington, IN 47977. It is not listed in the "Church Services Directory" in the Rensselaer Republican. but information about it is given in the remingtonindiana.com site. The pastor is Randy Sparks. Sunday morning worship is at 10 a.m.

The First Christian Church in Rensselaer is part of the Disciples of Christ denomination. The First Christian Church in Remington does not seem to be. I was not able to find a denomination to which it belonged. It does not seem to have a website.

The building is mentioned in the Jasper County Interim Report, but little informtion is given other than it was built in 1899.
