Last weekend was a busy weekend for arts and culture. On Friday, April 30 the Prairie Arts Council opened their new show, their second annual Artists Members' Show, which featured the art of members of PAC. This is Gail Woolever's pastel titled "Root Beer Iris."
This portrait of "MLC" was for sale. I like the portrait, but why would one buy a contemporary portrait of a stranger?
This is Dana Zier's One Child Missing. It is charcoal on Rivers BFK, whatever that means. It is an arresting image.
The PAC show runs until June 11.
The student art exhibit in the Core Building lobby at SJC will be gone this week. It features work from the art classes held at SJC.
I took a picture of this one only because it reminded me of an economics video.
And I like stained glass.
On Sunday SJC held its annual awards ceremony in the auditorium of the Core Building. There were a lot of awards and a lot of people.
Later on Sunday the choir presented its final concert of the year, singing Mozart's Requiem. An orchestra made up of people from Purdue, Ball State, Indiana State, and Northwestern Universities in addition to some SJC members accompanied the performance. If you like Mozart you were probably there.
