CDC Resources will have an open house on March 21, 2013 from 8:30 to 10:00 CDT at their Rensselaer facility at the east end of Angelica Street (1320 E Angelica). CDC Resources provides a variety of services to adults with developmental disabilities in Jasper, Newton, White, Carroll and Benton counties.
In addition to providing day services, a sheltered workshop, and employment services at the Angelica location, CDC operates Jasper Junction north of town and the Jasper Village apartments on Sparling Avenue. In Kentland it has Newton Village, which is similar to Jasper Village but smaller. Although it employs 57 people part time or full time who live in Jasper County and 12 who live in Newton County and serves 175 people who live in Jasper County and another 84 from Newton County, many people know very little about CDC Resources. The open house is one way that it is trying to increase awareness of what it does.
If you want your own copy of the invitation with more information about CDC, you can get it here. (It is a pdf file.)
If you cannot make the open house on March 21, you can get some idea of what the agency does from this video. You should recognize several Rensselaer locations in the first half.
(Disclaimer: I have past and current connections to CDC Resources.)
