A Service of Lessons and Carols

Saint Joseph's College hosted a service of lessons and carols this evening. Until the SJC choir began to perform for this service several years, I had never heard of it. It is part choir concert and part religious service, with readings from the Bible alternating with religious songs. Checking the Internet, I found that the service originated in the Anglican Church in England during the 19th century, but it has spread to other denominations.

Week two of Advent began today. Christmas is not far off, and with the snow we got today, it looks very Christmassy outside.
