The "For Rent" signs are down in what was Slice of Pie Pizza and a new sign is in the window, "Mt. Hood Pizza & Grill".
It should have been obvious for some time that Slice of Pie had closed permanently. I have no info on what is coming next.
Enjoy another wonderful November day.
Update: The comments were revealing. Mt Hood Pizza now has a
Facebook page.
He was a VERY rude & racist person and our town is better off without such people in MY humble opinion. The Pizza was GREAT, but we could not have one without the other unfortunately. He is the main reason that Fred & Ida needed to move away from him. 100% Truth.
ReplyDeleteSo very true he was a racist and would post pics of Mexican children tied up. And killed on their door....shut their water off....and constantly harass them glad to see him go

DeleteIs it the Davisson Brothers, Mark and Craig?
ReplyDeleteI was told they moved to Indianapois and opened there ....don't know how true...but anyways hopefully these new people won't make you buy 2 drinks when you want to share a drink with your spouse ....
ReplyDeleteThese comments about the previous renter (or landlord or whatever) of the building are confusing. Mt Hood is a new place in Rensselaer and the Davissons are stand-up people and Rensselaer is fortunate to have their talents and energy. I went to Craig's Mt Hood Pizza joint in Portland, Oregon before he moved back to Rensselaer. Very good pizza and I don't think you're going to have problems with their hospitality. I can't wait for my next trip to Rensselaer. I'll be going here, for sure!
ReplyDeleteOh man the original Mt.Hood Pizza was amazing! Love the Davissons and can't wait to come back for a slice.
ReplyDeleteMHP lives on! I used to live in Portland, OR and Mount Hood Pizza was a staple. Always a warm and welcoming environment , sometimes I'd even just stop in for a beer just to hang with Craig (owner) and friends/employees or to watch a game. I can assure you everyone will be welcome:)

I WISH MHP ALL THE BEST, AND LOOK FORWARD TO TRYING THEIR FOOD.
ReplyDeletePLEASE DON'T LET YOUR OPINION OF THE OWNER OF SLICE OF PIE KEEP YOU FROM DOING BUSINESS WITH MHP.
MHP ARE GOOD PEOPLE.
That said, the owner of Slice of Pie Pizza is STILL in the picture, subleasing the building to MHP.
This is because the owner of Slice of Pie Pizza was able to "convince" the late owner of this property (a man then in his early 90's) to sign a 50 YEAR LEASE at $400 per month (among a host one sided provisions) without being allowed to read the lease.
This is a fact, as the late owner showed me his copy of the lease, and told me the conditions under which he signed it.
IT'S MY HOPE THAT MHP IS A HUGE SUCCESS, AND THEY WILL BE ABLE TO SOMEHOW BUY THE PROPERTY IN SUCH A WAY THAT THEY CAN CONTROL IT FREE AND CLEAR.
Interesting name, We have same pizza Hood in Belgrade.
ReplyDeleteIt's a really good pizza, I will come next week again :)
