Runway

Construction activity continues at the Jasper County Airport. On Tuesday morning these strange structures were sitting near the south end of the runway. I have no idea what they are for, but it appears that they are made of rebar.
There were workers on the north end of the runway. The shoulder was recently disturbed soil, and I think drainage tile had been laid under it.
A few feet beyond the north end of the runway sat the machine shown below. It seems to be a resurfacing machine, and it should be in action pretty soon.
