Little Cousin Jasper Festival starts

The 2013 version of the Little Cousin Jasper Festival got underway on Friday. When I arrived, the Hee Haw show was on the stage with a very large crowd enjoying their music. The show was more sedate than the TV series of the same name.
The Iroquois Valley Harmonizers got some stage time in the Hee Haw show. They will have the stage for a longer performance on Saturday at 10:00 am.
The ladies in pink were dressed as pigs with pig ears, snouts, and little tails.

I would have enjoyed sitting and watching the whole show, but I had some young guests who wanted action. They enjoyed the free face painting that the McDonalds' booth provided.
After the Hee Haw Fun, the percussion group Sheltered Reality performed. They were loud. Very loud. There are several groups performing under that name, and this one was from Frankfort, IN. They performed at LCJ in 2011 at a less favorable time slot and were very well received.
The weather is cooperating this year (unlike last year), the entertainment schedule looks attractive, so there should be big crowds for all three days.

  1. A lot of the Sheltered Reality participants are members of our Frankfort St Matthew United Methodist Church, and they are very loud. The kids love it.

  2. Congrats to the Little Cousin Jasper Team. The music I heard and the booth folks I visited with were splendid, interesting, and showed good, good talent. Thanks to Pat Fox, Martha Langley, and more.
