PAC's 20th Anniversary Exhibition
The Prairie Arts Council is currently showing its 20th Anniversary Exhibition, which will be in the Fendig Gallery of the Carnegie Center until September 29. The Council invited artists who have shown work in one of the more than 200 exhibits over the last 20 years to submit a new work. Forty one artists responded. Most still live in Indiana, but there were also submissions from Georgia and Montana.
Below are a few that intrigued me. I have no idea what Gregg Hertzlieb was trying to do in this untitled picture done with watercolor and ink on paper. It looks like it could be an illustration for a children's book. If you like it, it is for sale for $500.
Another untitled watercolor hangs nearby, this by Nancy Marshall. I really like the frame.
I got a funny angle on this charcoal drawing by Judy Crawford in and effort to avoid reflections. If you want it, it is also for sale. You can check the price at the Fendig Gallery.
The pastel below by Gerri Govert is titled "A Touch of Grace." It is for sale but costs more than the charcoal picture above.
Michael Crowthers carved this face from walnut. It is called "I See You," and costs about the same as the picture above.
To see what the other 36 artists are showing, you will have to go to the gallery yourself. It is open Monday thru Friday from 10:00 to 3:00 and admission is free.
