Despite the heat on Saturday, the mural artists were busy. The two portraits in the alley are almost finished.
I am not sure how finished these birds are.
The "Rensselaer" on the Rensselaer Republican probably will get more little farming images in the lettering.
In the evening light the cone flowers are eye-catching.
The image reflects in the windows of the First Merchants Bank.
Midday a person from the WFYI radio station in Indianapolis interviewed the artists. The interviewer asked if the heat and humidity bothered her and she said that it was not as bad as that she is used to in Brooklyn. If anyone can find a link before I do, leave it in the comments.
WLFI in Lafayette has reported on the mural. See
here.
One completely new image was created in the alley today. The artist is not one of the
five that were part of the
original group but
he has been doing work in the Lafayette project is a friend of Cameron.

The annual J.C. Cruisers Car Show and Cruise night took place on Saturday. There was a large collection of cars on display in Brookside Park in the morning.
As usual, many people turned out for Cruise night.
After a hot and humid afternoon, the evening was pleasant.
I think this picture shows last year's fair queen court. The new fair queen will be selected next Friday. The
Rensselaer Republican has details.
The Whiskey and Whiskers fundraiser for the animal shelter had a good turnout. A band was setting up to play but had not started by the time I left the Cruise.
