Remington's churches--Heritage Bible

(I thought it would be interesting to use Sundays to focus on Rensselaer's churches and to see how many Sundays I can go before I run out of material. Indiana is richly endowed with religious denominations, with influences from North and South, East and West. This is part of that series of posts.)

Heritage Bible Church is located at 22 W South St in Remington, IN. According to the "Church Services Directory" in the Rensselaer Republican, the pastor is Dave Nave. Sunday Services are at 10 a.m. There are other services, and these (and much else) can be found on the website for the church at www.heritage-bible.org/.

The Heritage Bible Church was established in 2003. The building once served a different denomination, as the corner stone reveals: Presbyterian Church Organized 1865. Rebuilt 1913
The Jasper County Interim Report classifies this building as "outstanding," one of only three for all of Remington. (The other two are the old water tower and Sacred Heart Catholic Church.) It is built in the neoclassical style, which seems to have been undergoing a revival at the time. (The Carneigie Library in Rensselaer built in 1905 is another example of the style.)

From the exterior, you can see that the building has some interesting stained glass windows.
