The second librarian knew the history of the building and told me that the northern part of the building, which now houses two meeting rooms, was once the entire library. I has been remodeled so that it blends in with the newer part of the building, but if you look closely, you can see that it does not quite match.The church was built on the top of a slope, and that slope was steepened when the new addition was added. St. Cecilia relocated several blocks to the south.

If you to the JCPL FB page (facebook.com/myjcpl), and look at the right hand side, it has a timeline of years. Click on 1960, and you can follow the timeline of how the DeMotte library began. 1978 actually has a photo of the old original library.
